If you would like to make naturally leavened sourdough bread, but do not want to take the time to cultivate a starter from scratch, we've got you covered. In just a few feedings, you will be ready to lay the perfect foundation for your own homemade sourdough bread. You will receive roughly 1.5 oz (~40g) of fresh starter made entirely from wheat flour, h20, and TIME. You will also receive simple instructions on how to feed and grow your starter, as well as what to do if you don't plan to bake very often. Your starter really doesn't ask for a lot, but is dependent upon you for survival! Organic Acerola — A powerful source of Vitamin C derived from cherries. Organic Camu Camu — Derived from a shrub, camu camu berries are a potent source of Vitamin C, amino acids and phytochemicals. Organic Rosehips — Taken from the part of the rose flower just below the petal, rose hips are also a powerful natural source of Vitamin C. Vitamin C is naturally found in skin, mostly the epidermis and some in the dermis. Collagen collapse is a major cause of wrinkles. Vitamin C regulates the synthesis of collagen and it does this by hydroxylating collagen, which makes it more stable and improves the way it supports the epidermis. This batch of Oat+Honey Spelt features the lovely wholegrain organic spelt grain cultivated, harvested, and milled by Carolina Grounds in NC. Long-fermented sourdough breads have been recommended for people who sometimes experience symptoms of non-celiac gluten sensitivities. The process of fermentation not only affects the texture and rise of the dough, but also works to break down the glutenous proteins and produces gut-friendly lactobacilli which promote healthy gastro-intestinal flora! Besides that, there is just nothing like the feeling of comfort, nourishment, and hearty nutrition given by an honest loaf of bread. Bread may be kept unwrapped, open-face-down on a cutting board, or you may choose to wrap it up, box it up or go ahead and eat it up JUST PLEASE DON'T KEEP IT IN THE FRIDGE. You may also decide to freeze the bread for a later time; that's great -- the bread freezes beautifully. There is nothing in "real bread" that needs to be refrigerated. In fact, tracking the nuanced flavor development over a number of days can be a wild adventure in itself.
