This cake is so tasty, and even better the next day!! Bear with me while I say that it is dense, yet light. I am not usually so ambiguous with descriptions, but what I mean is that it is a substantial cake (moreso than angel food cake) that is both light and moist. My husband said it is a great breakfast bread (not to mention he did not know it was dairy-free, and loved it!), and I said it was like a giant muffin! The walnut crumb topping is a nice texture transition and fun topper. Get your omega 3s and fiber/fruit serving at once with this cake. Refrigeration is not required for this cake, but recommended after one day to preserve freshness. One 8" round cake. Vegan-friendly.

Deep and slightly pungent flavors of Carolina-grown organic whole wheat and rye are pronounced and topped with aromatic and antioxidant-packed caraway and dill seed. When I used to make this bread for a local open-air farmers market, I could always count on seeing RoseMarie, returning for her loaf or two of Bavarian Rye-- one for herself, one for her daughter. It thrills me to bake for all of you, all of my customers. (Wood spoon and microfiber cloth included.) Oil Cleansing Method fans know the power of “like dissolves like,” so we take this concept to the next level with our Tallow Cleansing Balm! Tallow is especially beneficial because of its bio-identical properties that closely match the oils on our own face. It makes sense then that tallow is the primary oil in this product. We infuse our Grassfed Tallow with organic flowers and lemon peel for a pleasing cleansing blend that’s perfect for all skin types. We add a small amount of hydrogenated castor oil to create a solubilizing effect. This means that this balm rinses away quicker and more cleanly, making the Oil Cleansing ritual a more user-friendly process for the less patient. Directions: Scoop out a quarter sized amount of Cleansing Balm and massage onto facial skin with circular strokes. Wet the microfiber cloth (included in kit) with hot, steamy water and lay it over face. Relax and allow the cloth to cool. Wet the cloth again and wipe away the oil, taking care not to scrub. Your face will be left soft and moisturized. No need to follow with anything at all -- simply allow your skin to rest. Ingredients: Grassfed Tallow — Homegrown and in-house rendered, this exceptionally nutritious fat is the basis of all our products. Mostly white, a little whole wheat, dried cranberries and pecans make this an ideal sourdough bread for breakfast, lunch or dinner! Long-fermented sourdough breads have been recommended for people who sometimes experience symptoms of non-celiac gluten sensitivities. The process of fermentation not only affects the texture and rise of the dough, but also works to break down the glutenous proteins and produces gut-friendly lactobacilli which promote healthy gastro-intestinal flora! Besides that, there is just nothing like the feeling of comfort, nourishment, and hearty nutrition given by an honest loaf of bread. Bread may be kept unwrapped, open-face-down on a cutting board, or you may choose to wrap it up, box it up or go ahead and eat it up JUST PLEASE DON'T KEEP IT IN THE FRIDGE. You may also decide to freeze the bread for a later time; that's great -- the bread freezes beautifully. There is nothing in "real bread" that needs to be refrigerated. In fact, tracking the nuanced flavor development over a number of days can be a wild adventure in itself. If you do take your time in eating off your loaf, it may need a refreshment in a couple of days. By customer request, we wanted to formulate an all-natural deodorant that’s both effective and gentle. In doing so, it seemed important to feature ingredients that support a healthy skin biome and immune system, while eliminating ingredients that cause irritation or could potentially be harmful. After lots of trial and error over the past few years we've landed on a formulation that we love! Our Tallow Deodorant absorbs wetness, neutralizes odor, and promotes a healthy skin biome, without blocking lymph nodes and sweat glands that help rid our bodies of toxins. Our active powder blend is suspended in a highly emollient, antimicrobial combination of grassfed tallow, grassfed ghee, and local beeswax. Baking soda deodorants are popular these days, but many people experience skin irritation caused by its high pH. As a result, we include only a small sprinkle of baking soda to our active powder blend, just enough to neutralize odor causing bacteria it contacts. The irritating effects of a high pH are offset by the skin-friendly animal fats in which it is suspended. An array of other actives such as magnesium, zinc, and goldenseal also work synergistically to combat odor. Coconut oil is also a very popular ingredient in natural deodorants that we omitted because many people report a sensitivity to it. We hope you'll give it a try! This nourishing Deodorant is free of aluminum, alcohols, parabens, and synthetic fragrance. One or two swipes of the biodegradable cardboard applicator and you're on your way. Re-apply as needed. When switching to a natural product such as this, you may experience a transition period that may include excessive odor or sweating. If this happens, you may benefit from a detoxifying mask for your armpits. Ingredients: Grassfed Buffalo Tallow — Rendered from our family’s herd of water buffalo, this exceptionally nutritious fat is the basis of all our products. Bamboo Powder - Aborbs 500 times its weight in moisture, bamboo powder is a natural choice for a natural deodorant. It does not block sweat glands, but instead absorbs excess sweat! Goldenseal — This herb is antimicrobial, anti inflammatory and strongly astringent. It also soothes underarm rashes. Banana Powder — This Potassium and Vitamin A-rich powder helps our deodorant absorb wetness while moisturizing and soothing your pits. Unlike other starches we've tried in natural deodorants, banana powder does not clog pores in armpits. Zinc Oxide (non-nano) - When combined with magnesium hydroxide acts as an effective odor neutralizer. It boasts many, many benefits for skin! Magnesium Hydroxide - We can all use a little more calmness from magnesium and when combined with zinc oxide it is a natural odor fighter! Sodium Bicarbonate - Powerful odor neutralizer, naturally mined and naturally aluminum free. I looked around the house for inspiration, and voila, we now have my new favorite bread-- Maple Tahini Sourdough. Don't be deterred if you're having trouble imagining these ingredients in a bread. It tastes (and is!!) a sesame loaf, with a hit of the maple syrup to both encourage fermentation and enhance flavor. The tahini provides a warm nutty flavor with a beautifully soft interior. Topped with black and white sesame seeds. You'll have to give this one a try!

If you would like to make naturally leavened sourdough bread, but do not want to take the time to cultivate a starter from scratch, we've got you covered. In just a few feedings, you will be ready to lay the perfect foundation for your own homemade sourdough bread. You will receive roughly 1.5 oz (~40g) of fresh starter made entirely from wheat flour, h20, and TIME. You will also receive simple instructions on how to feed and grow your starter, as well as what to do if you don't plan to bake very often. Your starter really doesn't ask for a lot, but is dependent upon you for survival!
